Recent Purchase: Guess what? A Murakami! :XD

Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman is a collection of 24 uniquely-written short stories by none other than Japan's literary genius, Haruki Murakami.

Gyaaah! Got my first Murakami yesterday! Nagbunga ang pagmamaka-awa ko sa nanay ko. Haha. So happy. Yey! For a second there, I forgot I needed to buy Sparks’ The Best of Me. But I think this would be handy. It’s divided into 24 stories, and I could use something short since 2nd sem is commencing.

Review: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Probably the most powerful love story I have ever read. True love is always waiting, and it is something that surpasses boundaries and leaps through time — at least, in this book. I can really imagine myself falling in love with someone like Henry. And Clare is someone I really look up to — I mean the patience she have, always waiting for Henry, and being the person who is left behind, the one who always has to worry, the one who always has to wait. If worrying and waiting could kill, she couldn’t have survive. How strong she was, how determined in trying to live a normal life no matter how weird and irregular each moment of the life she chose have been. This story was heartbreakingly-sad — as it is sexy, joyous and heartwarming. How one disease brought them together, and then apart; and how it made their life worthwhile. This was such a good read — a very good read that is…

Probably one of the greatest book that I’ve set eyes on. It made me laugh, made me cry. A book that possibly brought out every emotion I could muster. I recommend it with all my heart.

Made me cry like hell.

A good confidence booster.

"You've done your best. You've done your part. And I commend you for that."
- My father, while we were talking through Skype
I was talking to my father a while ago, and HE said that to me. I mean, of all people, hearing that from my father makes me feel relieved. At least all the efforts were not in vain. Hearing something like this from people whose opinion I care about lessens the stress I’ve  gotten from the past semester. It really takes the pressure off. :))

"You gave meaning to my life...", Reworded

"Whenever I listened to her, I felt my life meant more than mere biology..." - Richard DeTamble
I was reading The Time Traveler's Wife and stumbled upon this line. This was when Clare asked Richard, to describe Henry's long deceased mother, Annette. I'm a sucker for lines like this. The phrase "S/he gave meaning to my life.", reworded, in the most heartbreaking way.

Mr. DeTamble is only a fictional character, but reading what he has to say about his beloved makes me somehow wince because I can feel how much he loved her and how miserable he has become since she suddenly died without warning.

I pondered over this for a while. I closed my eyes, and I can almost see his pained expression, though unclear. His face with a smile, remembering the good old days when they were still together hand in hand with everyday that passes, but at the same time, you can't deny the anguish that crossed his features letting you know that he, once again, undergone the cruel curse of remembering and a painful realization that it's all gone. An expression, happy and hurt at the same time, that you can only tap him in the back and say "It's gonna be okay." to stop the guilt from asking.

Just a line, and I'm making it a big deal. As always.
Some other killer lines that makes me "ahhh..." in sadness... (by Richard DeTamble as well):
"After she died, I don't think I ever felt anything again."
"Oh. No. It doesn't... hurt me; I... it's good to know she's there, somewhere. I mean... the worst thing is that she's gone. So it's good that she's out there. Even if I can't see her."
Okay, back to reading. :))

Dream: Skip Beat! Live Action (Japan TV Production)

During my early morning YouTube rendevouz, I accidentally found this fanmade trailer at eLingchanPROD's channel. (Note: I'd like to emphasize fanmade. Yep. Fanmade. And what a perfectly skilled fan he/she is. Haha.)

After screaming like crazy, I realized I was conned when I read the description. Lol. It put my hopes up. Haha. But I really wish they make a live action from this one... I never thought about it until now, but this was the perfect cast! :) Beautiful trailer. I seriously thought it was real. :))

Anyone who loved the Japanese Hana Kimi Series would seriously drool over this because the leads are exactly the lead trio at the series. And I think they're perfect.

Kyoko Mogami - Horikita Maki (she'll do good. :] )
Tsuruga Ren - Oguri Shun (my fangirl heart for Oguri Shun has been awakend, again)
Fuwa Sho - Ikuta Toma (in all fairness, fitting!)
Kotonami Kanae - Kuroki Meisa
Takarada Lory - Abe Hiroshi
Yashihiro Yukihito - Yamamoto Koji
Takarada Maria - Ohashi Nozomi
Sawara Takenori - Jinnai Takanori
and many more...

Haha. I'm going over board. If this is just true, I could've screamed my head off. (which I'm doing right now. :P)
